Cayman Crafts
Birdhouses made from coconuts, brooms woven from thatch, and pepper sauce distilled form fiery Scotch bonnet peppers to capture the spirit of the islands make inexpensive island souvenirs. One of our favorite crafts shops on the island is Pure Art Gallery and Gifts (South Church St. and Denham Thompson Way, George Town). it's not located in the main retail section of George Town but it's well worth the drive. The store is located in a small home, with each room filled to the brim with all types of Caymanian and Caribbean art. Look for woodcarvings, artwork, crafts, coffeecakes, and even genuine Cayman license plates. Prices are not inexpensive but the selection is the best on the island.
