The Barefoot Man
Mention Cayman and nightlife in the same sentence and the island's best-known performer comes to mind: the Barefoot Man. George Nowak, AKA the Barefoot Man, has been entertaining Cayman audiences for years and his music was heard in The Firm. We first saw him at the Holiday Inn Grand Cayman, playing (yes, barefoot) on the sand behind the hotel to a standing-room-only crowd. (When we left later, cars were lining the road for miles on each side of the Holiday Inn, even though he played there most days every week.) Today, the old Holiday Inn is no more, now relocated to a new site. The Barefoot Man has moved on. After a run at Rum Point, he now plays at the Reef Resort every Tuesday and Thursday.
